Make Your Own Taiyaki!

Experience Authentic Japanese Sweets at Asakusa Taiyaki Kobo GURAKU

Tucked away on a quiet street in Asakusa, Taiyaki Kobo GURAKU is not just a sweets shop—it's a place where you can enjoy a hands-on experience making your own taiyaki (a fish-shaped Japanese pancake filled with sweet or savory fillings).

While Asakusa is known as a lively sightseeing area, GURAKU offers something deeper: an authentic cultural experience and a memorable activity perfect for visitors who want more than just a photo op.

What’s the Experience Like?

In this 1-hour course, you’ll use a traditional iron mold just like a real taiyaki artisan. You’ll go through each step of making your own taiyaki—from start to finish:

  • Pour the batter into the iron mold

  • Add your favorite filling (such as red bean, custard, keema curry, or cheese!)

  • Flip it with your own hands

  • Eat your freshly baked taiyaki on the spot (or take any extras home)

Friendly staff will guide you through the process, so even kids and first-timers can join with confidence.

Who Is This For?

  • Travelers who want to experience Japanese food culture hands-on

  • Couples or families looking for a fun and unique memory

  • Social media lovers who want Insta-worthy photos

  • Visitors with kids who want to enjoy a creative, family-friendly activity
