Yoroiya: A Beloved Asakusa Ramen Shop Serving Warm Japanese Flavors Since 1992

Located in the heart of Denboin Street, one of Asakusa’s most popular sightseeing areas, Asakusa Nadekoro Ramen Yoroiya has been loved by locals and travelers alike since opening on July 7, 1992.

As you walk along the lively streets of Asakusa, the comforting aroma of traditional Japanese soup stock gently drifts from the shopfront.

The warm scent of bonito-based broth naturally draws people in, building anticipation for the bowl waiting beyond the noren curtain.

Inside, the first floor offers casual counter seating, while the second floor features spacious table seating suitable for families and groups. Seasonal artwork decorating the walls adds a touch of classic Asakusa atmosphere, making even the waiting time part of the experience.

If it’s your first visit to Yoroiya, the most recommended dish is the restaurant’s signature Special Ramen.

Based on their classic Japanese-style soy sauce ramen, this hearty bowl is topped with luxurious ingredients including seasoned twin-yolk eggs, tender

chashu pork, bamboo shoots, and seaweed.

Because the rare twin-yolk eggs are difficult to source, only 50 bowls are served each day. Early visits are highly recommended.

Another must-try menu item is Yoroiya’s famous large handmade gyoza, ordered by nearly one out of every two customers.

Carefully hand-wrapped every morning, these oversized dumplings are known for their juicy filling and satisfying flavor. They pair perfectly with ramen or as a snack with drinks.

Many guests also enjoy drinking at Yoroiya while sharing side dishes such as the large gyoza and the shop’s special soy-marinated chashu pork.

The relaxed atmosphere makes it easy to casually enjoy Japanese comfort food and drinks without formality.

Yoroiya also offers vegan-friendly menu options, making it a welcoming choice for travelers with various dietary preferences.

Seasonal limited-time ramen specials are another reason many repeat customers keep returning, always looking forward to discovering new flavors.

Throughout the restaurant, small thoughtful touches and warm hospitality reflect the traditional spirit of Asakusa itself.

One of the defining features of Yoroiya’s ramen is the owner’s dedication to carefully selected ingredients.

The owner personally sources ingredients and carefully prepares them by hand to bring out the deepest flavors in the broth.

The soup is light yet rich, combining deep Japanese dashi umami with the refreshing aroma of yuzu citrus. Before you realize it, you may find yourself finishing every last drop.

Paired with the soup is a specially developed noodle recipe created after countless rounds of experimentation.

The noodles are custom-made by Asakusa Kaikaro, a long-established noodle maker in Asakusa, enhancing the soup’s delicate flavor and aroma.

The harmony between the carefully crafted broth and custom noodles creates a uniquely Japanese ramen experience that can only be found here.

For over 30 years, Yoroiya has continued to preserve the same beloved flavors.

The care, craftsmanship, and hospitality poured into every bowl explain why this ramen shop has remained cherished by so many people for generations.

Even after finishing your meal, you may suddenly find yourself craving it again.

That is why, day after day, people continue to step through Yoroiya’s noren curtain in search of another unforgettable bowl.
